I actually ...Lisa, that's a really great idea. I actually hadn't thought about it before. Zofran helped somewhat during pregnancy (reduced vomiting, but did little for the constant nausea). Sometimes I do start throwing up while the race is still going on, but I've had much less of that since I started using Nuun hydration. This time, I think I really would have been fine if I had taken better care of myself afterwards... getting into the shade, drinking water, etc. I will definitely think about revisiting the Zofran issue in the future though. Hope to see you at Bear Chase next year ;)Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11802460524219101589noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4066108016896383194.post-49727012600303897262015-09-28T21:10:55.477-06:002015-09-28T21:10:55.477-06:00This is possibly a dumb question, but have you eve...This is possibly a dumb question, but have you ever tried taking an anti-emetic like phenergan (promethazine) or zofran after a race? It seems like most of the time you're keeping liquids down for at least the first half hour after a race, which would give the meds time to kick in and maybe mitigate some of it. Neither of those worked great for me when pregnant, but both have been absolutely awesome otherwise when I get a stomach bug. (I don't take it right away--usually only after 6-8 hours of throwing up when it's just down to my stomach being flipped out and all it needs to do is settle. And I suppose they did help while pregnant, just not to the extent I hoped.) Might be worth a try if your doctor would give you a prescription.

Nice race and nice time! This is on my bucket list, but the 50k in Winter Park took priority for me this year. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
